Dinos!

My nephews and sister invited me to the natural history museum with them. The boys had a lot of fun looking at dinosaurs, comparing their feet to dinos feet, coloring, panning for gold, appearing in an old western movie, and ending up in the jail.
My favorite was the mammoth! thanks for inviting me sky!

Happy Birthday Jake boy!! To see the video of my brothers cake in action click here.

July 4th

My friends and I were lucky enough to stay at the four seasons for the weekend of July 4th. The resort was absolutely gorgeous and even though we were only 45 minutes away from our homes, we still felt like we were on vacation. We were out in the desert and got to spend some nice relaxing time getting tan(burnt) by the pool. We were also lucky enough to be high up in the Scottsdale mountains to see four firework shows going on at once. What a fun staycation! :)

difficult duvet

After i had upgraded my bed from a double to a queen, I needed a new duvet cover. I spent a lot of time searching online and could not find the perfect one in the colors i liked. The comforter I did like was at urban outfitters and they only had two color options and neither i fancied. a few months later i discovered a tutorial on a blog that showed how they made the exact comforter i wanted by themselves. bada-bing thats it, i just had to go buy fabric and sew my own comforter. well turns out, that was a lot easier said than done since i dont know how to sew. it took two attempts, two fails, and a close call with needles flying at my eyeballs for me to become hopeless. My fantastic mom came to the rescue, found the perfect ruffles in the exact color i wanted and actually sewed the entire thing for me. I am not sure how i talked her into that (i think she felt sorry for me ;) ). It turned out just fantastic and i love it. Thanks for all your help mom! i now have more ideas in my head for her to make me things! muah-hah-ha!
