Surprise!

When I found out Krissy was going to be in Vegas, we planned a very last minute surprise visit for Memorial Weekend. It was so nice to see her face plus the fact she almost cried when she saw us. It was a fun filled two days with lots of girl chats, lazy pool day, drinks, vegas best fajitas, long walks, insane traffic, tons of laughs, and the now infamous "dance."

my friends surprised me with a skydiving adventure for graduating with my masters. we turned it into team skydive 2011 girls day of course! I think it is safe to say i have THE coolest family and friends. I love these girls so much and would not have wanted to sign my life away, get 2 minutes of instructions, get motion sick in an airplane, and plunge to the earth with anyone else. Thanks for such an amazing day ladies!!

Library

When I first discovered the concept of making a vintage suitcase into a table/storage holder, I knew I had to have one. I found the suitcase at the local antique mall and scored the awesome legs and my new favorite hole in the wall fabric store. I then got these chairs for a whopping $13 each and fixed them up with a little love, a scrub down, and some new fresh fabric from that same store. This room is a still a work in progress but it is the closest I have ever gotten to having my own little library/office and I love it!

Ballet

My friends and I got all dolled up and headed off to see the sleeping beauty play in Chandler. I had never been to a real ballet before so I was quite excited. It kept reminding us of the Sex and the City episode where Carrie goes to the same ballet:

"Oh god, I just love Sleeping Beauty -- the music, the sets, the costumes -- it's so romantic."

Urban Picnic

Looking for some good food and a neat atmosphere? I recommend the Urban Picnic in downtown mesa. Downtown has a lot of fun sights, stores, and restaurants!

Body Worlds

Since i missed the body worlds exhibit when it came around in 2005, i had been longing to go ever since. When groupon gave me a two for one deal, i couldnt pass it up for the second time. My sister and i had a lot of fun examining everything and learning all about the body. we also got to spend a few minutes before the science center closed to go around and play on the regular exhibits which included a tug of war fight between us, sky pulling her weight on the hardest level, vortex making, and sky loosing her cool while sitting on a bed of nails! (on a side note, her and i should never be allowed to go places together). I of course was fascinated with the body worlds exhibit portions on the brain. it was quite interesting to see everything that close and i naturally left with a book or two to add to my collection!

Mums Day

For mothers day i went and bought some different flavored bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Mom and I had a nice little tea party and got to taste test the different cakes which were their signature chocolate chocolate chip, red velvet, and white chocolate raspberry. Yum. Mom and I decided that anything tastes good eaten on or drank out of fine china! I also determined that I need to have tea parties more often! Happy Mothers Day MOM!~

Super Hero Day

I have never had a comic before or thought twice about them but when I heard it was FREE comic book day, I had to go. It was so much fun and we now have a new comic book lover. Landon could not put his down. What a great idea!
