10 Things

This idea is stolen from my best friend melissa's blog. Shes always enlightening me :)

Ten things i have realized so far this week:

1. bangs never seem to work out just right so cutting them is probably my best option
2. after 18 years of straight school and homework, not having any homework is truly spectacular
3. checking the mail everyday is not going to make my masters diploma come any faster
4. the more you try to forget about something, the more you cannot stop thinking about it
5. i need to not forget how much i love and enjoy decorating/crafting
6. clouds above the bed are quite dreamy
7. my sisters the next Picasso
8. any desert bug will appear to look like a scorpion when squished in a dark closet and examined after the fact (i still think it was a scorpion)
9. my dad makes things look effortless/i am not cut out for the manly jobs around the house
10. 116 is entirely too hot for anything including shopping, lifting 50lbs bags of salt, and car air conditioners

Landon Turns 5!

Happy 5th Birthday my main man!!! I cant believe he is five. sheesh. and my sister threw another phenomenal party with a super hero theme! Holy amazing party batman!

San Diego 2011

San Diego was JUST what I needed. It was nice to:

get away, feel the sand between my toes, spend time with my sister, laugh, teach my nephews how to make sandcastles, grab coffee in the morning, have no plans, discover tide pools and lighthouses, have s'mores night, eat doughnuts, have picnics, cupcakes on the beach, die laughing while hurting ourselves on a children's slide (i still have a bruise), dig for treasure, watch for snails, paint ceramics, have incidences (the snail, the bead episode over the entire hyatt lobby tile, the choking incident), understand who Jose Cabrillo was, learn about lighthouse women and their families, discover my new found love for the game battleship (thanks landon), sit back and enjoy the view, finally take a picture of the dino, find out seals are smarter than you think, take jumping pictures, take in all the gorgeous flowers, touch sea anemones, sit back and watch as landon convinces lee the anemone he was going to touch is poisonous, listen to my sister against better judgement, discover that scuba steve does indeed never take off his scuba gear, listen to the waves, sit by the pool, watch my nephew give the thumbs up double time before jumping in, getting sandy bums and sugar highs, holding hands on the beach, finding out we are having more fun with googly eyes than the kids are, and watching my sister discover one of the best desert sunsets of her life haha.

San Diego was a great time...

Carbillo national monument

on one of our day adventures, we discovered point loma and its amazing lighthouse and tide pools. I had really been looking forward to this day and I was not disappointed. The lighthouse was quaint and it was interesting to see the bedrooms and the size of the light. It was also amazing how they crammed in rooms around a circular staircase. We had a nice picnic on the beach and then ventured off to the tide pools. we discovered crabs of all sizes, fish, sea anemones, hermit crabs, seaweed, and barnacles. The kids were quite amazed.

Downfall

So, I had a little bit of what I like to call a "b.spears downfall" and chopped off all my hair. I dont know what came over me but I as I sat in the hairdressers chair, I willingly told her to cut it all off. I knew I wouldnt stoop as low as Bspears and then the paparazzi happened. Hahaha. On our vacation I was the step child stuck in the trunk. The paparazzi aka my sister thought it was humorous to take my photo while getting in and out of the trunk. Not a pretty sight eh? haha well after a few days and my devastation wearing off, I know it'll grow back. Plus, it can only go up from here. I mean, britney made a comeback right? :)
