After watching eat, pray, love on the most fabulous invention ever, Netflix, I became obsessed with tracking down a soda manufactured and most commonly consumed in India. Reading online I learned the history of this soda with the coca cola factory shut down in India and how this specific drink is supposed to resemble coke. It was quite difficult to track down this specific soda in the United States but lucky for me there are many Indian food grocery stores in Tempe, AZ and the India Plaza happened to have some. After purchasing two sodas, candy including smarties from Canada, and some common Hinduism art, I left and headed to my sisters house to surprise her with my findings. Sky is just as silly, crazy, and adventurous as I am so I knew she would want in on this! There were several clues which should have indicated that we shouldn't have tried this drink: 1: the uneven soda distribution between the two jars, 2: the never ending too much fizz after we popped the tops off, 3: the lovely rust and tar stained glass rims, or 4: the smell alone. We both preceded to try these drinks and then thought after "that was probably a bad idea." hahaha My sister and I laughed, felt sick and of course laughed again at how ridiculous we are. After dumping out the rest of the soda and finding spots to put our cool new glass around the house I noticed the bottle says "do not drink after 6 months from manufacture." JUST Great!!!! I can't wait to ask Dad about this one!
